Siapa yang tidak mengenal Ny. Hj. Chalimah Abdurrochim? Dua orang yang pernah bertemu dengan beliau tidak akan berselisih bahwa beliau adalah orang yang dekat dengan Allah, memancarkan aura kesalehan, mencerminkan keluhuran akhlak dan kebaikan hati dalam memberi dan membantu kepada sesama. Ini tidak terlepas dari kehidupan beliau sebagai sosok wanita yang senantiasa berada di dalam baitus shalah wal ilmi (keluarga yang saleh dan berilmu) di sepanjang siklus hidupnya. Beliau adalah Ny. Hj. Chalimah binti Zubair, putri dari Kiai Zubair Dahlan dan adik dari KH. Maimoen Zubair. Saat dewasa, beliau diperistri oleh KH. Abdurrochim Ahmad dan dikarunia putra-putri yang saleh nan alim :

Beliaulah sosok ibunda hebat di balik keberhasilan para Pengasuh Pondok Pesantren Ma’hadul Ulum Asy-Syari’yyah : (Alm) KH. M. Adib Abdurrochim, KH. M. Said Abdurrochim, dan KH. M. Ahdal Abdurrochim.
Ny. Hj. Chalimah Abdurrochim dikenal banyak orang dari akhlak karimah dan adab hasanah yang tertanam dalam kepribadian beliau. Beliau, KH. M. Said Abdurrochim, menuliskan sebagian dari sifat-sifat ibundanya dalam kitab Ar-Razan hal. 55
- Melayani Suami dan Keluarga
Selama hidupnya dihabiskan dengan setia melayani sang suami yaitu KH. Abdurrochim Ahmad. Tak ubahnya seperti khadim yang tulus dan tanpa pamrih melayani tidak seperti sikap seorang istri pada suaminya. Beliau juga melayani keluarga, putra-putri, cucu-cucu dengan sepenuh hati dan lebih memprioritaskan kepentingan mereka di atas kepentingan beliau sendiri.
- Memuliakan Tamu
Disaat kedatangan tamu, senantiasa beliau memberi pelayanan terbaik dalam memuliakan para tamunya. Selain itu, juga senantiasa menjalin silaturami dan memberikan hadiah serta kenang-kenangan kepada setiap orang yang beliau kenal meski pada pertemuan pertama.
- Peduli Terhadap Orang Lain
Ny. Hj. Chalimah mempunyai perhatian dan kepedulian besar terhadap orang lain, terlebih ketika ada yang terkena musibah atau sakit. Sering kali, makanan serta obat-obatan disiapkan dan dikirimkan kepada mereka.
- Sedekah kepada Santri
Ny. Hj. Chalimah selalu memperbanyak sedekah dan berbuat baik kepada orang lain. Beliau pun sering membuat syukuran untuk keluarga dan para santri sebagaimana banyak dianjurkan oleh agama.
- Ahli Zikir
Ny. Hj. Chalimah selalu membaca banyak wirid dan zikir, terlebih saat beliau menginjak usia lanjut.
Dari kebaikan hati yang tercermin dari sifat-sifat inilah, beliau dicintai oleh banyak orang sehingga semua orang sangat berduka di hari wafatannya, yaitu bertepatan pada Selasa, 2 Mei 2017 / Malam Rabu, 6 Sya’ban 1438 dalam usia 74 tahun.
